Greetings in Jesus name. I thank God for allowing me to jot down a few thoughts from Acts of the Apostles 9:13-15.
Topic: Chosen Instrument
God has called us to a specific purpose. Each of us are called with a different vision for the ultimate purpose to extend God's Kingdom. In John: 15:16 it says, He has chosen us so that we can bear fruit and bring glory to His name.
We must be Christ centered and abide in Him by fulfilling all He desires for our lives. Many times we focus on our own purpose but now it's time to understand the purpose behind our calling.
Paul's Hebrew name was Saul. We know from scripture that he was firm in his faith. He was young and passionate to do anything for his belief. On the way to Damascus Saul was touched by God and meanwhile Jesus asked a man of God Ananias to meet this young man who was God's 'chosen instrument' to carry God's name. While reading this passage, we find (Acts 9: 13-14) that Ananias comes to the Lord with opposing views about Saul the murderer and he refused to meet Saul because of the many negative reports he had heard about him.
While we as humans may look upon people with our own perspective, the Lord's perspective is always different and beyond what we imagine. God chose Saul, who in His perspective was the perfect person, and qualified to be used by God as a 'chosen instrument' for His Kingdom work. In short, Saul became Paul, touched by God Almighty and Anointed to be His 'chosen instrument' to fulfill a specific purpose.
We too, have been called and anointed by God, 'chosen instruments' to fulfill our specific purpose. Its my prayer that we all come to know and understand our purpose, so that we can bear fruit and bring glory to God's name.
