Greetings in Jesus name, scripture for this month is taken from 1 Samuel 15:26 (NIV)
But Samuel said to him, “I will not go back with you. You have rejected the word of the Lord, and the Lord has rejected you as king over Israel!”
Heartbreaking... Saul’s life
Saul once had a humble heart before the Lord and was full of promise but bad was his end.
God instructed Saul to wipe out the Amalekites completely but instead he spared King Agag and their most valuable possessions. (1 Sam. 15:1-3, 10-11)
Saul's sin consisted in disobeying the Word of God. In 1 Sam. 13:14, Prophet Samuel told Saul, "the Lord has sought out a man after his own heart".
Like with King Saul, disobedience can cause us to forfeit our purpose and destiny. God seeks to have men and women after his own heart. The successor king would eventually be King David who truly was a man after God's heart.
To be a man or woman after God's heart, is to be humble and obedient to God completely, not half-hearted like Saul. God doesn't expect human perfection, he is looking for men and women in pursuit of His heart - his righteousness (his ways of doing and being right).
